WELLNESS, COSMETICS, PHYSICAL THERAPY AND REHABILITATION

Depending on the dimensions (the diameter of the roller can be from at least 8 to 20 cm, and the length from 30 to 100 cm), the rollers serve as pads under the head (due to their elastic strength, they are an excellent pad under the neck, which is often a painful area for people) or under knees so that the lumbar part of the spine is in a completely relaxed position during the treatment. When the legs are extended while lying on the back, the lumbar part of the back is slightly raised and very tense, so using a roller under the knees in that position is not only desirable but also very important.

The rollers that serve as a pad under the neck also have their own therapeutic effect, because during the treatment from the underside, in addition to comfortable and high-quality support, they also provide light pressure on the cervical part of the spine and the back of the head, which leads to the additional effect of relaxing that most tense part of the body.

The rollers that serve as a support under the neck and head should not have a diameter greater than 10 - 12 cm, and the rollers that serve as a support under the knees should have a diameter of 12 - 15 cm.

In physical therapy and rehabilitation the role of the rollers is multiple:

- as a support for the head - diameter dimensions from 8 to a maximum of 12 cm are used

- as a knee pad - diameter dimensions of 12 - 15 cm

- as a prop in exercises to strengthen the quadriceps muscles after knee and hip surgeries... for which the exact density of the sponge is especially important

- as a prop in the rehabilitation of scoliosis (Schroth method) - diameters of 8 - 12 cm and lengths of 50 - 100 cm are used

- for therapies in which the patient has to lie prone as a support under the pelvis (for lumboischialgia) or under the lower legs (due to relaxation of the lumbar part) - dimensions of 12 - 15 cm in diameter, adjusted to a lower degree of density, are used

HOTEL AND CATERING

 

In the hotel and catering industry, rollers are not only decorative elements determined by interior design, but they also have and should have their own purpose in terms of a comfortable lumbar roll (lumbar back support on chairs, armchairs, two-seaters...), armrests, support for neck...

When it comes to such expediency (and the rollers can thus be used in cafes, bistros, bars, lobbies, and hotel rooms)

In hotel rooms, rollers are always a welcome element, especially when watching TV or just taking an afternoon break. If their strength is adjustable and the colors are adapted to the design of the hotel room, they can be not only beautiful but also a very desirable and pleasant element that will be used more than any other pillow.

It is important that the rollers are not made of filling, which loses its strength and shape over time, but of a quality sponge that will adapt to any neck or back and be an ideal support for everyone's shoulder or arm.

What is important when making rollers for the purpose of use in catering and hotel industry?
